Missing Field

I am unable to access a critical field in a connected db. I am connected to the database fine but one field I really need is missing. I tried everything easy

- duplicated the database and connected to the copy,

- disconnected the database then reconnected

- even uninstalled the extension.

Is there cache I can clear? The extension seems to remember to include some fields in the save form even after I thought I had nuked them and after I nuked page permissions etc
