CSS Selector for Page Content

Hi Iddris. I've been enjoying Copy To Notion very much. I would like to make a feature request to make Copy To Notion better.

I'm a long time user of Obsidian and it's Webclipper. It's also one of the best webclipper I've used. One of the reason being able to CSS select page content.

Currently Copy To Notion can CSS Select for Page properties but not Page Content (if not mistakened). If it can please let me know; if not, I would like to make this feature request.

Thanks!

Jireh

    Hi Jireh,
Yes, you’re right. Page content doesn’t support CSS selector at the moment, I will try to add it. It would be great if you could share your use cases for it!

    Thank you for your feedback!

Sure Idriss! (Sorry I misspelled your name in the post)

I'm currently handling the SNS of a journal. I'm tasked with getting the article info such as Abstract, Authors, etc.

Manually selecting the elements isn't feasible because, for instance, each author is a tag.

So the way is to save full page. But this results in uncessary content which makes notion slower and notion ai much slower.

So if I could CSS select all the elements I need, it can same a lot of time and make my workspace light.

I also have other similar applications for CSS Selectors.

Aah I see, but if I understand correctly you are looking for something to be able to select multiple elements of the same page and then capture them at once in the Page Content? However, currently in Copy To Notion (with db properties), you can only set one CSS selector not multiple ones per property.

So, setting one CSS selector for Page Content is not enough for your need, am I right?

          Yeah. That's right.

Moreover, sometimes the “full article” mode isn't accurate (just because of the sites layout) and doesn't capture the entire page. so having the CSS to selector to target important content is crucial.

So far, I have to multi select manually if the full article isn't accurate.
